To promote community involvement with young people through art and mentorship — creating an environment where youth feel comfortable expressing themselves and building character without criticism.

Why This Table Exists
The table formed out of concern for keeping young people safe, and the conviction that art and mentorship can give youth a place to belong. Without safe spaces and caring adults, young people can lose directional hope for their lives.
Through creative projects and steady mentorship, young people build trust, pride, courage, strength, and character — growing into complete individuals with the community behind them.
Current Focus
- Create attractive participation pathways for young people through music, art, and service.
- Connect youth voice into broader Compassionate SWFL planning.
- Support virtues-based education and relationship-building practices.
What We Do
Monthly community art projects
A public art project each month where young people create together and use art to talk about their lives.
Youth–mentor pairing
Connecting young people with adult mentors who listen and help them navigate challenges.
Awe walks
Monthly walks focused on wonder — noticing the world together and talking about what inspires awe.
Planetarium and museum visits
Group trips to the planetarium and local history museums, with discussions about awe and what it teaches us.
An Impact Story
At an art project in a local park, children used drawing and painting to open up about their lives and the problems they carry. Their artwork filled with hearts and other acts of love — a reminder that when young people are given a safe way to express themselves, they reach for connection.
Our Accomplishments
- Brought young people together and gave them a safe place to communicate.
- Held the table's first community art event in April 2026.
- Ongoing youth surveys that help mentors understand what young people actually need.
Where We’re Headed
- Unify more of Southwest Florida's youth.
- Support character building through art, mentorship, and shared experiences.
- Grow youth participation in Compassionate SWFL — young people regularly attending meetings, with different generations coexisting and learning from each other.
